TLW EdgeMed’s comprehensive approach to rural healthcare includes “MedPlex”, specially designed self-contained modular structures that can be quickly deployed to serve as medical clinics and health centers in remote and rural areas.
MedPlex modular facilities are excellent cost-effective substitutes for brick and mortar buildings in many rural settings. MedPlex medical facilities are available as either permanent structures or as a rapidly deployed expandible modular units.

Units for Temporary or Short-Term Service
The rapid deployment system is comprised of one to four expandable modules. Clinic modules are comprised of two to three examination rooms and a small laboratory. Overnight care can accommodated by a five to six beds “micro hospital” module. Kitchen and dining facility modules are also available as part of the package. Each facility is completely green and include alternate power, water, filtration, and waste treatment as well as a wide variety of Internet and communication systems via wireless or satellite. Units are shipped in the standard seaboard container modules (7.5×7.5x40ft) and are expandable at a setup to 15×40 ft. The entire facility can be moved if necessary. In addition, enhanced security features can be added and potentially hostile environments.
Permanent Facilities for Long-Term Services
MedPlex permanent facilities are composed of lightweight structurally reinforced panels that can be set up and operational in a matter of days. Facilities have the latest R rating of any structure of its type, allowing for efficient cooling and heating in the harshest of environmental extremes. In addition, MedPlex permanent structures have been rated to withstand hurricane force winds in excess of 250 km per hour. MedPlex permanent facilities have one of the lowest per square meter cost of any buildings in their category.
TacCom Communication Package
A unique feature of MedPlex is its communication capability utilizing TacCom rapid deployment telecom system. The TacCom system enhances or replaces existing Telecom systems which many times are lacking in rural and remote areas.
TacCom systems include high-speed internet access for video, radiology imaging, virtual triage and other diagnostic VR applications, area wide Wi-Fi coverage, voiceover IP (VOIP), wireless or satellite backhaul to internet gateways and HIPAA compliant data transfer and storage.
